Finding a USENET feed can be quite difficult. To give you an idea of how bad the situation is, at both Stanford University and the University of California, I have been unable to get USENET feeds for student groups!
The brute force way to go about it is to get hold of the UUCP maps for your area, and call UUCP sites until you find one that will give you a feed. Several Internet sites are map servers, which means that you can send them email to request the uucp maps for your area. One of the map servers is ieee.org. Sending mail to map-request@ieee.org, with a subject of help or list will get you information on how to use the map server. Here’s what the message will look like:
TO: map-request@ieee.org
SUBJECT: help
The message text can be anything.
Maps are also available by anonymous ftp to ftp.uu.net, in directory /uumap/.
If this approach does not work, you may wish to consider commercial USENET feeds, such Netcom, Anterior Technologies, AlterNet, or UUPSI.
